Small actions and objects became symbols of resistance–hand-knitted “pink pussy” hats became the de facto signifier of defiance. 

In Brooklyn, New York, a small group of women artists, curators, gallery owners, and printmakers called the Victory Garden Women’s Collective came together to print and distribute more than one thousand "Suffragette Sashes" for the January 21 marches.
