PRINT/WEAVE

A collection of monoprints, PRINT/WEAVE, was inspired by seeing Anni Albers weavings and prints displayed side by side at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and in reaction to reading a chapter in ‘Women’s Work” by Elizabeth Wayland Barber called “The String Revolution.”

PRINT/WEAVE PORTFOLIO

Inspired by works on display at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, Louise Eastman lead a creative experiment with Jamie Boyle and Molly Haynes to let the sculptural act of the printmaking process embrace the materiality of weaving. Crossing over from loom to press, fabric to paper, the tactile functions of the cloth used are changed and transformed, releasing new potential in the way a textile can be experienced.
